Medusa is collecting plastic again with Ogyre
Ensuring a sustainable future for our oceans is an ongoing monumental task. This is why Medusa has once again partnered with Ogyre, an active marine protection mission operating in Brazil, Indonesia, and Italy. As they did last year, Medusa is working with Ogyre’s fishermen on a concrete action plan: by January 2025, 500 kg of plastic will be removed from the ocean. New this year, every customer can scan the QR code on the packaging to check the current progress of the initiative in English (https://ogyre.com/link/medusa-qrcode-EN).
Through the "Fishing for Litter" initiative, waste is collected by fishermen during their regular fishing activities, stored, and brought ashore, where it is recorded and properly disposed of by one of the project’s scientific partners. Each purchase of the promotional packs supports the removal of in total 500 kg waste from the ocean.
Protecting the oceans is a cause close to Medusa’s heart. As an inexhaustible source of life and resources, the ocean is now threatened by waste and pollution.
